Research

What follows is a list of all known chalcogenide focused research groups from around the world.

If you are part of a research group studying chalcogenide materials and would like to be included in this list please email research-groups@chalcogenides.com with a (roughly) 60 word description of your group's research interests, a link to your website if you have one, a representative logo or image if you have one and a contact email address and we'll include you here.

We are happy to include both academic and industrial research groups in this listing.

The Novel Glass Group is part of the ORC's Fibre Fabrication Area and plays a central role in a broad spectrum of ORC activities. Our mission is to explore the application of new types of chalcogenide glass as optical waveguide devices, phase change materials and semiconductors. It is a large and active group, consisting of Research Fellows, PhD students and Technical Support.

Mercouri G. Kanatzidis Research Group, Department of Chemistry, Northwestern University, Illinois, USA.

Dr. M. G. Kanatzidis

Our group is focused in solid-state inorganic chemistry from Exploratory synthesis in Chalcogenide and Intermetallic Materials, Thermoelectric applications and porous semiconductors.

Fisher Research Group, Dept. of Applied Physics, Stanford University, Califonia, USA.

Dr. I. Fisher

Our research focuses on the design, growth and characterization of materials with unconventional magnetic and electronic ground states and phase transitions. This is achieved by balancing a strong crystal growth effort with a traditional set of low temperature physics measurements, principally of thermodynamic and transport properties.
